Into the Void

There are many obstacles an artist, or photographer in my case, has to contend with. And I'm not much of a conflict kind of guy. But, I am a survivor. I've survived financial ups and downs, lost loves, lost inspiration and sometimes even lost passion for life in general. However, in fact, I usually do quite well. But much of that has to do with my positive attitude, my psychological buoyancy, and my ability to be fluid when need be. 2010 was a bitch, but 2011 will be a great financial success, mostly due to this fluidity, and my innate ability to take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. And that's nice, and will, in the end, afford me more freedom to attack my personal projects, and see them come to fruition. The point is, you don't always have to be so singularly minded for fear of being labeled a dilettante. People are very complex creatures, and most have a myriad of natural talents at their disposal. Most are just caught up in what I refer to as the "label game". (well, I'm an attorney, so I can't be an accountant,....or, I'm a pediatrician, so I can't be a businessman/woman and open a restaurant) Well, I say "poppycock". You can do whatever you want,....you CAN change course in midstream. You can grow into something unexpected, and be wildly successful at it. After all, how many 16 year olds know exactly where their life will take them, and never veer off course? Very few. And this is because people do change over time. Like it or not. So, go ahead,... jump into the void. It ain't that scary after all. It's just life. There is no success without failure. Sorry, that's just the way it works.
This also applies to personal relationships, whether family, friends or lovers. It's always amazed me how each low in my life has led to a greater happiness. Just be fearless and open. It'll all work out.
